FSX-550 of as series of Specifications for FUME AND SMOKE EXTRACTION products FSX-550 Fume and Smoke Extractor Powerful, Compact, Portable Space Efficient Continuous Duty |
| SECTION I GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Contractor shall furnish and install the FSX-550 self-contained blower and dual stage filtration module per plans. The unit shall be an FSX-550 as manufactured , USA, or approved equal. The unit shall consist of one each;
cylindrical filtration module, motor blower module, with on/off control.
The extractor shall be completely factory assembled as a self-contained
unit. Each extractor shall be neatly painted with a durable hammered
finish powder coat, performance tested including a hi-pot test required by
ETL/CSA and properly packaged for shipping. Both filtration and blower
module must be the product of the same manufacturer to insure undivided
responsibility and simplified servicing. Extractor precision sheet metal
fabrication shall be fabricated in an ISO-9000 compliant facility, and the
completed packaged unit shall bear ETL/CSA Labels. The capacity of each unit at a nominal rating shall be to produce continuously 3500 actual cubic feet per minute of airflow. Maximum free air delivery with a new cartridge shall be at least 4800 cubic feet per minute of airflow. The fan wheel is a 15” airfoil, backward inclined, non-overloading high efficiency spark resistant type. The fan wheel is constructed and tested to AMCA section 210-211 standard. The motor shall be ; 5 HP, ODP, 3450 RPM, 208/230/460/3/60. Primary filter cartridge; pleated composite cellulose, 450 square feet, 99.9% efficient at .3 micron particulate size. SECTION III. EXTRACTOR SIZE AND DESIGN Extractor shall be of a downflow design
with filter, inlet cone, fan and motor aligned vertically in the same
plane. Total dimensions are not to exceed 40” length, 26” width, and
67” height. The top mounted 14” diameter intake and cyclonic separator
is designed to extinguish sparks and distribute airflow evenly across the
filtration media. A vertically centered threaded rod and locking nut
provide gasket compression on the filter element. The extractor will have
a minimum of 25 sq. feet of 1” thick class one acoustical lining. |
SECTION IV. EXTRACTOR FITTINGS AND CONTROLSAll junctions, connectors, leads, and strain relief grommets are ETL/CSA recognized components. Extractor controls shall be an on/off operation type and may include a 115 VAC step-down transformer for integral FSX high intensity hood lighting . The motor starter shall be equipped with thermal overload and under voltage protection. Control Box shall be panel mounted and so located on the extractor to provide ease of servicing and use. SECTION V. TESTS A QC inspection of the extractor shall include physical inspection of the finish, the shaft, fan, key way, cone alignment and motor mounts. Then a trial power up to test controls and proper fan rotation. Also a test of the acoustical lining for adhesive performance. Primary filter cartridge inspected for gasket seal, pleat seal, end cap damage, tears or pin holes. Check that cartridge is fitted with a pre-filter wrap and properly seated on pedestal and fastened to a threaded center post. SECTION VI. OWNER’S MANUAL Instructions for installation, operation and maintenance of the extractor shall be contained in a manual provided with each extractor unit. A wiring diagram corresponding to the extractor shall be included in the Owner’s Manual. SECTION VII WARRANTY
