REMAN {REMANUFACTURED} (transitive verb):
The rebuilding of a product to specifications of the original manufactured product using a combination of reused, repaired and new parts.
- DPF, DOC, SCRs - Not Produced by OEMs or Aftermarket providers.
- EGRs - a few models are able to be remanufactured, most are not.
OEM-Level Reconditioning Process
The ONLY way to fully Recover a DPF, DOC, or SCR is to exhaustively clean all soot, ash, and other contaminants from the component to return it as close to it's original manufactured condition as humanly possible.
A full OEM-level Reconditioning process provides several cleanliness and performance metrics that compare a Reconditioned filter to new filter performance. Only those filters that pass inspection will be called a Reconditioned component.
